I suspect that the 5 device limit is related to the restricted memory (~1 GB, if I read the specs properly). The UX can function as a Gateway using it own internal controller, or as an AP if adopted into another Unifi controller.Everything is pushed towards the middle, so you see something with reduced dynamic range, but you also see a lot more detail in the dark areas.
